Loretam

(Aldosomnil, Lormetazepam, Pronoctan, Ergocalm, Loramet, Dilamet, Sedaben, Stilaze, Nocton, Noctamide, Noctamid, Minias, Methyllorazepam)

Loretam is an intermediate-acting benzodiazepine that is not available in the United States or Canada. It's amnesic effect makes it less desirable for daily use as it can impair memory and motor skills.

Loretam like all benzodiazepines, alters the sleep by reducing the amounts of restorative Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep and increasing the non-restorative sleep patterns. This can result in daytime drowsiness and poor cognitive function. LORETAM also depresses the respiratory muscles when combined with other non-benzodiazepines such as Lunesta or Ambien.

Shorter acting benzo’s are usually associated with much more intense and immediate withdrawal symptoms as compared to longer acting benzodiazepines. Because of this, anyone wishing to come off Loretam should discontinue through slow and gradual dose reduction, also known as tapering.

People We've Helped

  • This program has revolutionized my health, which had been compromised for years due in part to the use of prescription sleep aids. After several months on the program, I have never felt better, and am sleeping without the use of medication for the first time in years. Not only have I experienced great success, I recommended them to many who have also had the same results. I highly recommend POR. - Pastor Stephen, Illinois (AMBIEN) more...
