SUPPORT is a microfiltered undenatured whey protein isolate with a greater than 90% protein content that is virtually lactose, fat and cholesterol free. SUPPORT also contains several critical micronutrients to help support brain function and yet remains the best value on the market today.
Undenatured whey protein helps to promote enhanced immune system activity and assists the body to effectively filter contaminants. Microfiltered whey protein isolates are rich in alpha lactalbumin serum, lactoferrin, and beta lactoglobulin, the building blocks of the body’s most potent immune cell supporter, Glutathione. Our advanced manufacturing process ensures you receive only pure whey protein isolate for maximized glutathione production.
Glutathione helps protect the body by regulating reactive oxygen molecules and free radicals produced by stress and pollutants. The brain is particularly susceptible to free radicals.
The term ‘undenatured whey’ does not ensure the milk is free of chemical, hormones, antibiotics or genetically modified organisms. The whey in SUPPORT is from certified organic milk (hormone, pesticide and agricultural chemical-free), and derived from cows that are never injected with pathogens, bovine growth hormones or any other hormone compounds, and graze on pesticide-free and chemical-free natural grass pastures.
The brain uses 20% of the body’s energy and approximately 25% of all the oxygen inhaled, and is a complex organ that also needs specific nutrients for optimal function.
While most whey proteins have added flavorings, sweeteners or vitamins that can interact with Antidepressants, Benzodiazepines and Sleeping Pills, SUPPORT was formulated free of flavorings or additives, and contains only the precise micronutrients for optimum brain function:
Micro-Nutrients in Support:
Vitamin B6 (P5P -pyridoxal-5-Phosphate) is required to maintain a healthy immune system, but also for the production of serotonin, a brain neurotransmitter that controls mood, appetite, and sleep patterns.
Vitamin B9 (Folic acid) is important in the production of red blood cells and assists the cells in the body to make and maintain DNA. But it also encourages normal nerve and proper brain function.
Vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin) is known as the anti-stress vitamin, helps protect the red blood cells in the human body. B12 also affects the balance of homocysteine levels and how the body uses folic acid and carbohydrates.
Zinc functions as an antioxidant in the central nervous system and has been shown to protect the integrity of the blood brain barrier. Of all the trace minerals, zinc is second to iron in total concentration in the brain.
Selenium is essential in supporting heart cells, the functioning of the immune system, and healthy brain function. Selenium is a co-factor for the enzyme glutathione peroxidase, which aids in the regeneration of glutathione. Glutathione protects the cells from rancid fats and improves immune system response.
Vitamin D3 is stored in the brain, skin, spleen, and bones and assists in calcium absorption. Vitamin D has also been reported to support the brain proteins known to be involved in learning, memory and motor control.
From raw materials to bottling SUPPORT uses Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in the production process to ensure optimal purity. There is a difference between GMP compliance and actual GMP certification. GMP compliance means that a company is monitoring itself to the standards, whereas certification means that outside auditors ensure adherence to GMP standards. A GMP compliance certificate is the only way to ensure adherence to the GMP requirements. SUPPORT is Kosher certified.
Not All Whey Proteins Are The Same
To appreciate the excellence of SUPPORT, it is important to understand the stark differences between various types of whey proteins and how the manufacturing processes affects the final product.
Whey proteins differ dramatically from one another depending on the processing method, protein content and additives. Whey protein concentrates & hydrolized (denatured) are inexpensive in raw material and production, while the Whey Protein Isolates (undenatured) undergo expensive filtration and drying methods in order to retain the vital protein structures.
There are body-building formulas, meal replacements and protein powders that all contain whey yet may not produce Glutathione. Even the phrase whey protein isolate does not guarantee the powder is a microfiltered isolate free of pesticides, hormones, artificial sweeteners, herbs and other items that can interact with medications and increase symptomology. You will not find a comparable undenatured micro-filtered whey isolate for a better value than SUPPORT.
Whey Proteins can be Divided into 3 Major Categories:
1. Whey Protein Concentrates (WPC)
2. Hydrolizates
3. Isolates - which are further sub-divided into:
• Ion-Exchange Isolates
• Micro-Filtered Undenatured Isolates
WHEY PROTEIN CONCENTRATES are the cheapest and lowest grade whey with a protein content varying between 35-85%. Whey concentrates contain excessive levels of lactose and fat, and are high in cholesterol. Whey concentrates are mainly derived using high temperatures that denature the whey, meaning the protein has been altered from its natural, native structure to some different, artificial composition. Many sports blends are comprised of denatured whey concentrates of low biological value. Additionally, the high temperatures used in concentrates oxidize a large part of the present cholesterol.
HYDROLYZED WHEY is a denatured partially predigested protein, where the native proteins are partially or fully lost. Normal digestion allows the body to breakdown as much protein as it needs to amino acids, but predigested whey is exceptionally high in the excitatory neurotransmitter Glutamic Acid (Glutamate).
ION-EXCHANGE WHEY ISOLATES have a protein content of 90% or higher, and contain tiny amounts of lactose, fat and cholesterol. However, the process of deriving ion-exchange whey includes separating the protein using an electrical charge using hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide. This process alters the pH levels of the whey and in turn destroys most of the native essential proteins that play a role in our immune health, natural Tryptophan production and ability to produce Glutathione.
While the healthy proteins are destroyed, a protein structure called Beta-lactoglobulin can become the most predominant in ion-exchange whey. Beta-lactoglobulins are major source of allergens.
MICRO-FILTERED WHEY ISOLATE (contained in SUPPORT) is the most undenatured form of whey, meaning the native structure remains intact. It has a 90% and higher protein content and is virtually lactose, fat and cholesterol free. During the process of microfiltration the undesired particles (fat and lactose) are separated from the protein using ceramic microfilters in a low temperature environment. High temperature pasteurization destroys these delicate compounds. After filtration the whey protein is spray-dried again using low temperatures. This is an expensive process that is essential to protect the native structure. Micro-filtered whey isolates have the highest biological value of all whey proteins and contains the following characteristics:
• Enhances the Production of Glutathione (GSH)
• Can Strengthen the Immune System
• Has Antioxidant Properties
• Promotes Muscle Growth
Microfiltered whey is rich in protein called native micro fractions that include alpha lactalbumin, flycomacropeptide, immunoglobulins, serum albumin, lactoferrin and lactoperoxidase. When the protein is processed and these micro-fractions are destroyed, the whey protein is considered “denatured.”
But these micro fractions contain essential amino acids that are immediately available to muscle cells and also support the immune system. For instance, immunoglobulins are also called antibodies that find and destroy viruses and bacteria; alpha lactalbumin is the most abundant protein in mother’s milk, and serum albumin is a precursor to glutathione (the body’s master antioxidant that is in every cell of the body). So it is essential to retain these micro fractions during the manufacturing process, or produce an “undenatured” whey protein.
