Experts in Prescription Drug Withdrawal
An affordable tapering program Temazepam withdrawal
Temazepam, like other benzodiazepines, increases the effects of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) in the brain. Itis a strong hypnotic that acts as a sedative but can also cause memory disturbances (amnesia) and impair motor skills.
While Temazepam acts rapidly to induce sleep, it also disrupts healthy sleep architecture by reducing restorative REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep patterns while increasing non-restorative sleep that leads to daytime drowsiness and diminished cognitive function. Temazepam also lessens respiratory muscle tone that can cause sleep apnea or other breathing problems.
Temazepam is only recommend for short-term use as tolerance to the sleep inducing effects can develop within days, and after six weeks of use impairment in performance occurs.
Temazepam is reported to have a higher side effect profile than other hypnotic drugs while the anti-anxiety and sedative properties diminish rapidly causing rebound anxiety and insomnia.
Due to the risk of Temazepam withdrawal symptoms, a gradual dose reduction is recommended versus an abrupt cessation. Let our non-profit help ease Temazepam withdrawal symptoms and guide you properly.

What is Temazepam?
(Restoril, Normison, Euhypnos, Temaze, Temtabs, Remestan, Tenox, Norkotral)
Restoril is a short to intermediate acting benzodiazepine that is a powerful hypnotic prescribed for the short-term treatment of insomnia. It was first synthesized in Europe in 1964 and was marketed in Europe until the FDA approved Restoril in 1981 for the U.S. market. By the late 1980s it was one of the most prescribed hypnotics on the market. East Germany and the Soviet Union used Restoril as a truth serum, but it made the subject too sleeping or rendered them incoherent. Instead, the drug was used to keep political dissidents housed and in a constant vegetative state in Soviet asylums. Physical dependence to Restoril carries the same concern as with all benzodiazepines, and the withdrawal syndrome can be extremely challenging. Therefore a slow taper is recommended to minimize symptoms.
