Vicilan

(Viloxazine, Vivalan, Emovit, Vivarin)

Vicilan is a bicyclic antidepressant used to treat acute clinical depression.

Bicyclic antidepressants are usually categorized as a Serotonin Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors (SNRI) and are named after the drug’s molecular structure, which contains two rings of atoms compared to tetracyclics and tricyclics that have 4 and 3 rings of atoms respectively. Bicyclics inhibit the reabsorption of Serotonin, Norepinephrine and to a lesser extent Dopamine.
